UPF Privacy Policy
In order to better serve its supporters, UPF does collect personal information. All personal information stored by UPF is completely confidential between the Foundation and the supporter(s). UPF does not sell any personal information to marketers or to market researchers on an individual or aggregate basis. The Foundation also never discloses any information to advertisers, corporate sponsors or other affiliated parties.
UPF may gather non-contact information that is easily accessible online and/or through other public sources, e.g. education, occupation, etc. UPF does reserve the right to contact its supporters to verify their contact information. Data Security
All personal information, including credit card and other financial information, stored by UPF is done so through an online database. This database protects data during both transmission and storage. During transmission, UPF employs a Server Digital Certificate and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Protocol to encrypt all data traffic between the database server and UPF. Furthermore, SSL also protects the contents of messages exchanged between the database server from being altered en route. SSL technology is the standard used by online banking, stock brokerages, and retailers for securing their online transactions.
During storage UPF also protects your data against outside influences. Personal data information is guarded in a data center facility that provides redundant state-of-the-art security features including:
- Biometric hand scanners
- Digital closed circuit television (CCTV)
- Secured card access
- High-security, tamper-proof cabinets with specially keyed locks
- Restricted access to server rooms
- 24-hour, on-site security staff
